Australia has been invited to attend and participate in the 2013 ESTO event which will be held in San Francisco, USA and will be combined with the West Coast Estonian Days. The Estonian government is no longer funding this event, and it is likely to represent the final ESTO.
The dates of the festival are 28th June- 1st July 2013. This is the beginning of school holidays in Australia.
We are looking at taking a combined folk-dancing group to the festival to perform, and hoping to get a enough interested people from across the states to dance as one group representing Australia.
A few key points to remember:
- You donʼt need to commit now, but some form of financial commitment will be required by the later stages of this year. A budget will be arranged once we have a better idea of those interested.
- You donʼt need to have a dance partner
- We are looking at ways to minimise costs by obtaining grants and organising fundraising.
- You donʼt have to dance, while this is the ultimate goal, we would like to hear from anyone interested in being a part of the trip even if its just to support and enjoy the event.
This is a great opportunity to not only have a holiday but represent Australia on the world ESTO stage.
At the moment, we are just wanting to compile a list of people who are interested to be on the mailing list to find out more.
