The Sydney Estonian Craft Group SESKKE have started a Folk Costume Library, where people lend or donate their old Estonian Costumes for people to borrow and wear on various occasions. We are delighted and grateful to all those who have already lended or donated their costumes and are looking to build our library further. Each item is numbered, named by the donator/lender, and catalogued for easy tracking. Always happy to return items to the original owner at any time.
If you would like to be part of the biggest collection of Estonian Folk Costumes in Australia, borrow items for a range of occasions such as independence day or choir performances, or find out more information, please contact Maie Pikkat at maiepikkat at bigpond.com
This project is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Välisministeerium, who share our vision of celebrating Estonian culture across the world!
