The Estonian Society in Melbourne, ÜHING, AGM

All members are encouraged to attend. Be part of the community – get involved.

3:00pm, 28th March 2020
Estonian House, upstairs hall
43 Melville Rd, Brunswick West VIC 3055

The committee meets once a month, on a weekend to plan events. The meetings are conducted in English, as many of our present day members aren’t fluent in Estonian language. The Estonian House Co-op takes care of the maintenance of the building and Ühing organises the social events, such as Independence Day, Mothers’ Day, Jaanipäev.
The Ühing supports its members in many ways:

  • one being to subside our young children to attend Sõrve Summer Camp in Sydney;
  • discounted rates when hiring Eesti Maja for family events such as weddings; to subsidise Melbourne choir members to travel to Laulupidu in Tallinn in 2019.
  • And of course our Christmas Celebration lunch.

Put your hand up and join the committee, have positive input to what happens and how, within our changing Melbourne community. Only you know what your young families want and need as they grow up here in Melbourne. Don’t have a family? Well, what do you value most? How can we best support the growth of the Estonian culture in the 2020’s? The face of our community is changing and this committee, the Estonian Society in Melbourne, needs new blood, new energy, a new outlook and new faces. We have a big year ahead to support the planning and execution of Eesti Päevad 2020. Come along to the AGM and meet others who are involved; have a chat, see how you could perhaps support us.

If you would like to join the committee please notify the Society Chairperson, Bernadette Pilli:
