Eesti Päevad 2027 preliminary program is out!

Concerts, theatre, dancing, cool workshops and a few surprises! The preliminary program for Eesti Päevad 2027 in Sydney is out, and choosing what to attend might be tricky.

The 30th Eesti Päevad (Estonian Festival) will take place in Sydney from 8–11 April 2027, bringing Estonians, Australians and friends together for four days of culture, creativity and community celebrations. This year’s festival also marks the 100th anniversary of the Estonian Society of Sydney, with approximately 400 performers expected to take part.

The festivities will officially open at Sydney Town Hall on Thursday, 8 April 2027, with a special ceremony. Festivalgoers are invited to gather at Sydney Estonian House beforehand and march together to Town Hall, Estonian flags flying high!

What’s on the program?

Music lovers are in for a treat, with performances by the Estonian Philharmonic Chamber Choir, Inga and Toomas Lunge, Andre Hinn, and many more. Theatre performances, film screenings, art and craft exhibitions, and creative workshops will offer plenty of opportunities to discover something new. You might want to start practising the difficult art of being in two places at once.

Fancy trying something different? There’s Line Dance Learning for those willing to put their feet to the test, and Sip & Paint for anyone who suspects their artistic talents might improve with a little encouragement. Or perhaps you’d prefer a silent disco sightseeing tour around Sydney? Dancing through the streets wearing headphones might raise a few eyebrows, but that’s half the fun. And for the particularly energetic, there’s sunrise yoga at Bondi Beach. Yes, sunrise. You can do it!

Younger festivalgoers will be in for a treat too, with children’s discos, games, crafts, sports and plenty of other activities on offer. Meanwhile, Saturday’s Culture Day – Dance and Song Festival at St Leonards Park promises to bring Estonian music and dance together in grand style. Sunday’s program includes a panel discussion celebrating 100 years of Estonians in Sydney. And if you still have energy left after all that, the festivities will conclude with a sunset cruise on Darling Harbour. What an amazing way to finish four days of celebrations!

The program is still being finalised, with further additions and possible changes to activities, times and venues. There’s already plenty exciting to explore, so now is a good time to start planning which events you’d like to attend. Ticket sales will open soon.

Check the program for individual event details and keep an eye out for updates.
