Traditional Estonian Independence Day picnicProudly sponsored by Estralian Trading Company, Eurodrinks, AeroTravel and Labour KingFor several years now, Estonian Independence Day Picnic on Shark Island has been an important part of the Estonian calendar in Sydney. Every year on this special day only, Shark island has turned into an “Estonian Territory”. It’s a perfect place to meet new people or have a great time with some old friends. As Shark island is booked already for our picnic day then we will do our picnic with Live music and dances on Clark Island
This year, on Saturday, 15. February*, Estonian Club in Sydney is proudly hosting this traditional event and there will be more fun for everyone.
*Date is chosen due to exclusive performance by a band straight from Estonia.
Agenda – starts at 15.00
Celebration of Estonian 96th Independence day anniversary and ceremony starts at 15.00
This year’s entertainment guest is well known Estonian süldibänd Tuulest Viidud (Gone with the wind)
If you are playing any musical instruments then take it with you!
Also, there is opportunity to learn some Estonian folk dances – taught by experienced teachers Tiina and Madis Alvre.
No Need To Carry Eskies!
There’s no need to carry your food or drinks with you. We have Estonian food organised by our own Estonian club catering team. Affordable snacks and drinks (including Saku, Kiss, Viru Valge and Vana Tallinn) can be purchased on the island.
