PUHKUS SIBERIS (Siberian Vacation) 2011 [R]At the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, deportations and migration created a wide-reaching Estonian diaspora on the territory of tsarist Russia.
By the end of 1920, there were 22,265 Estonian farmsteads with 115,790 inhabitants living in the Soviet Union. Many of the migrants found new homes in Siberia, where there were 174 Estonian colonies.
Verkhiny Suetuk was one of these.
After the 2nd World War, more than 50,000 Estonians returned home from Russia. In 1973, Jaan Kenzap also returned to Estonia from Verkhiny Suetuk with his family.
Today, Jaan has returned to his village in Siberia but the rest of the family remains in Estonia. His daughter Anne last visited her Siberian relatives as a child some twenty years ago. In the summer of 2010, she travels to Verkhiny Suetuk with her family and friends. They head for a Siberian vacation in an exotic world.

SAARTE VÄRVID (Colours of the Island) 2012 [R]

A film by Madli Lääne.This visually striking film portrays three musicians from disparate parts of the globe, whose common ground is not only talented virtuosity but also their heritage as ‘islanders’.
Saxaphonist Villu Veski from Muhu Island in Estonia, Faroe Island singer Eivor Palsdottir, and Barak “Bird” Levi from Hawaii, all draw, in their unique ways, inspiration from their natural environments and age-old traditions.
Underscoring each musicians works are subtle but expressive differences that characterize the spirit and nuance of their own island habitat.
This film invites the senses to take flight.

Staring: Eivor Palsdottir, Villu Veski, Barak “Bird” Levi

KORMORANID (Farts of Fury) 2012 [R]
A film by Andres Maymik.
This is a (fictional) story about the revival of a cult band “Cormoran” that existed in the late ’60s.
What happens when old rockers don’t want to put up with their fate as pensioners in a rocking chairs?
They make a come-back, that’s what! And so they do, trying to break back into the music scene at any cost.
Not knowing how things have changed and what they are getting themselves into, their situation only becomes worse!
Staring: Roman Baskin, Harri Kõrvits, Jüri Vlassov, Enn Klooren
